Cleaning the Different Surfaces in Your Café or Restaurant

The importance of having a clean and sanitised café or restaurant is paramount, and this is true now more than ever. As the hospitality world has slowed down due the current pandemic, majority of cafés and restaurants have shut their doors, but some are still providing take-away options. While you may be finding new ways to feed your hungry regular patrons, now is also the ideal time to give your café or restaurant a deep and thorough clean. Here, we discuss how you can tackle every surface with quality cleaning and sanitising products. No surface left behind While you may have a cleaning routine organised and be very strict about the sanitisation of your shop, now is the time to also focus on areas that do not get your full attention on a daily basis. For example, you already wipe down the tabletops after each patron has left, but with no patrons inside, you can now give the table a deep clean, including the legs, the sides and even underneath. To stop the spread of disease, and present a healthy and safe café or restaurant, clean and sanitise these areas: • Card machines, tills, and all areas that patrons and staff touch when dealing with money or debit/credit cards • All furniture and décor including tables, chairs, pillows, highchairs etc • Every handle on every door, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen • Bathroom mirrors, taps, toilets, hand dyers or hand towel dispensers • Items touched by multiple hands such as magazines, books, newspapers, menus, business cards, sauces, salt and pepper and sugar • Food and beverage equipment including coffee machines, blenders, sandwich makers etc • Display cabinets • All kitchen surfaces, fridges, freezers, ovens, stoves etc • Cooking and eating utensils, cutlery and crockery • Rubbish areas If you think of a surface in your café or restaurant that is not on the list, but could use a deep clean, then do that, too! There is no reason that you can’t get the most out of this quiet period and focus on the health and safety of yourself, your staff and patrons.
